This is specialized work in computer aided design and drafting (CADD)
and/or geographic information system (GIS) applications utilizing computer
resources such as the automated mapping computer files and coordinates
geometry (COGO) computer files.

An employee in a position allocated to this class processes complex
line work and basic GIS analyses; prepares and assembles detailed maps; and prepares graphic presentations, Work includes trouble-shooting problems and performing day-to-day maintenance.


Work is performed under the supervision of a higher-level GIS professional or administrative position and is reviewed for accuracy, technical knowledge demonstrated and achievement of desired results.

Required Skills and Certifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Geographical Information Systems, Surveying/Mapping, Engineering, Geography, Computer Science or related field
  • One (1) years of experience in GIS applications

Electronics Technician

This is advanced skilled technical work in the installation,
programming, repair, maintenance and modification of electronic systems
in six diverse electronic disciplines comprised of audio/video systems,
fire/intrusion alarm systems, two way radio systems, large integrated
security systems, telephone systems and bridge control systems.


An employee in a position allocated to this class is assigned to one
of six disciplines and installs, programs, repairs, maintains and
modifies advanced state of the art electronic products and software that
are computer processor controlled, independent judgment in the various technical phases of the work. Performs related work as required.


Instructions are received in the form of work orders with the job
detailing and planning left to the discretion of the technician. Work is
performed under the general direction of a supervisor who reviews work
through conferences, examination of reports, observation of work results and equipment performance.

Required Skills and Certifications:

  • Associates degree in Electronics
