This is independent advanced technical and analytical work
involving the planning, design, implementation, management and
operational support of telecommunications voice services.
This classification is distinguished from Telecommunications Administrator
in that this classification is responsible for communication and voice
systems analysis and design planning, development and enforcement of
standards and policies, development of security standardization and
advanced technical support and training of staff.
An employee in a position allocated to this class is responsible
for the installation and operational (troubleshooting and problem
resolution) support of simple and complex telecommunications voice
services.
This position reports to an administrative superior and the
work is evaluated based on quality of results obtained, conferences,
customer feedback and reports.
Required Skills and Certifications:
- Degree in Computer Science or closely related field
- Three (3) years experience in telephony, networking or VoIP system administration
